Goal:
To contribute to the consolidation of the IRD San Martin – UNALM as a knowledge Hub (IRD-HUB) in alternative development in the region, ensuring the generation of knowledge in local alternative development practices and its use by local institutions and beneficiaries. This implies a communication system to collect, preserve and distribute the information.
Activities:
Collect information and conduct technology evaluations through direct and indirect sources. This will make it possible to prepare a baseline and needs analysis showing the technologies used in alternative development, successes and failures from previous experiences, market preferences for products with potential in the area, existing value chains, perceptions and behavior of potential beneficiaries. These data will be used to design more inclusive and collaborative intervention activities, taking into account the prior knowledge and needs of local farmers, minorities and stakeholders.
Integrate knowledge, both technological and procedural. The knowledge of project implementation and ongoing evaluation of indicators will be integrated into a communication system. We will evaluate the impacts of the use of research and create a database containing information on the use of technology, the characteristics and impressions of the farmers and the changes that they triggered in the lives of the farmers.
Publish and use knowledge. We will use a collaborative knowledge platform, where project plans, research utilization progress and project intervention indicators will be shared and managed. The knowledge platform supported by integrated virtual applications will improve the channeling of researcher utilization by connecting beneficiaries, researchers, the project team and stakeholders. This will contribute to decision making and integrate project findings into agricultural and institutional practices.
